Traffic goes haywire on Dhaka – Aricha highway.

Holidaymakers heading towards the southern and northern districts are facing huge tailback on Dhaka-Aricha highway.
The traffic gridlock worsened since Wednesday late night due to extra pressure of vehicles carrying passengers to their home town for Eid, reports our senior photographer Syed Zakir Hossain.

Security tightened ahead of Eid.

Law enforcement agencies, including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police have taken special security measures across the country for smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque said that all the possible measures have been taken to ensure security on the occasion of the eid.
For a smooth and jubilant eid celebration, RAB, police and different intelligence agencies, both in uniform and plain clothes, are active at different strategic points in the cities, including bus terminals, railway stations, river-ports, launch and ferry ghats.

Helpline for working indigenous women.

The union has divided the capital into four zones to implement the "Indigenous Women Security" programme, Deny Drang, president of the platform's central committee, told the Dhaka Tribune on Monday.
